Our day had started like any other, Alexis was running around wildly making sure that we had all we need for our day out together. We had come to Paris two weeks ago and she was determined to see the sights. "Lex I don't know why it's such a big deal we are going to be staying here for two months you know." she looked at me and rolled her eyes as she backed a bag for herself. "You don't get it I found the Opera house! That's our first stop and then we go see all the other stuff." The Opera house she was referring to was the Opera Populaire she was absolutely obsessed with it.
Heck I used to be too, but we were young then..........
"Lex you know we most likely won't be able to get in there and second what do you think you'll find if the phantom was real then don't you think it would've cause a lot of commotion and all that." I said as I tried to snap her out of the delusion that we might actually find something. She didn't listen. Once we got to the opera house Alexis nearly jumped out of the car trying to get to it as fast as possible.
"Isn't this Amazing!"
"Yeah everything looks so.......fancy. Lex we shouldn't be in hear we aren't from here and I don't want to get into trouble." Alexis only smiled as she joked with me about investigating the opera house, out of the corner of me eye I saw a man wearing a cloak and a hat he was just there looking.
what is he looking at? I thought as I looked back at him. His cloak was a deep, thick, black and it reached down to his ankles. MY heart skipped a beat as I accidently made eye contact with him. His hat covered his face a, little bit, but I could see only see one side of his face as he stood in the shadows.
I turned to Alexis to point him out when I looked back he was gone! Alexis thought I was joking with her and went back to looking around. As she did I hung my head a little in disappointment. Did I imagine it? I shrugged thinking I must have when i heard a door open behind me. I turned and saw the door to the house was open! My curiosity got the best of me as I stood at the opening, I looked back quickly wondering if I should get Alexis but....that would take to long, and I wouldn't hear the end of her gloating if she found something interesting in her. my eyes looked at the darkness that surrounded the door on the other side. With all my courage I stepped into it.
I could barely make anything out as I walked around, finally after looking everywhere for some random thing I stopped and sat down. what did I expect? if the phantom was real or even alive for that matter he wouldn't just come up and say "Hi I'm The Phantom!"
Without think of the possible dangers of singing, I let my voice take control as it softly moved to the many notes in the phantom of the opera theme song. "You have a wonderful voice." said someone behind me. The sudden voice made me give a little squeak as I jumped from the seat. I turned and tried to see who it was talking but it was to dark. "T-Thank you" I stammered as I tried to slow my racing heart. The darkness blocked my sight but I swear the person smiled.
"What are you doing here all alone in the dark?"
"I like being alone sometimes and I saw the door open so I walked through to see if they were practicing or something like that." I said slowly and picking my words carefully.
"That's a bad habit you know curiosity did kill the cat." I nodded forgetting he probably couldn't see me. "So what is your name?" he asked, I figured out it was a he by his voice granted it took a little bit but not long.
"Lauran, but i like Rose better."
"What a beautiful name. I suppose you are wondering who i am?"
"Yes."
He laughed. "Maybe some other time but i think you should get back. You might be missed? But I'm sure we will meet again....Rose."
I heard Alexis called my name in the distance, I turned to the door that was letting in the light "Good bye." I said as I walked to the door. Alexis was not far off and let out a sigh of relief when she saw me. "I got scared when you weren't behind me come on let's go back to the hotel and rest you look tired. " She said as she started to take me out the door. We went back to the hotel but not before doing everything that distracted Alexis first. I was to distracted to care my mid was still racing over and over with the same question.
Who was he?
"Shesh Alexis could you have taken any longer to get us here?" I joked as we walked through the door. My meeting with the man was all but forgotten as we laughed and took turns jesting at each one another. I yawned then looked at the clock it was now 10:30 and my eyes were beginning to fall.
"I think i'm going to hit the sack okay Lex." I said as she looked up from the book she had started reading. "Okay sweet dreams." I smiled then went into my room of the apartment style room and changed into my Pjs.
As my dreams ran through my head, I heard someone speaking to me softly but I didn't think it was anything other than my imagination. I slept on hearing the voice it was kind and sweet it filled my head with so many thoughts and dreams that I never wanted to wake up.
"AHHHHHHHHHH!" My head spun as it jolted from the pillow to see who had screamed. Alexis stood in the doorway pointing at something. I quickly got out of the bed and ran to her. "Lex! What is it what's wrong?" she just kept on pointing i looked to where she was pointing but there was nothing. Wait. My window was open and there was a dark shadow on the other side. As i ran to the window to see who was there it left. I looked around but no one was there. "It's okay Lex who ever it was has left." she calmed down a little bit but it took some tea and a lot of talking to get her to tell me what she saw. "It was a aman he was leaning over you and brushing his hand across your cheek he didn't notice me until i tried to sneak away and...........I screamed." i nodded my head. "Did he wear or have anything specific so we could tell the police. She nodded, "He wore the phantoms mask.....Half his face was covered Lauran and the phantoms mask was what covered it."
